One hour drive to the Hoge Venen and the Ardennen. Nearby National Park Hoge Kempen.

45 minutes drive to "Zuid-Limburg" in The Netherlands. Very nice region, very beautiful walks. One example of a topwalk here.

Interesting cities with a historic city center, to shop and have fun (on 25 minutes tot 45 minutes drive): HasseltMaastricht, Leuven, Luik  (very large market Sunday at La Batte). C-Mine in Genk. Cities in HaspengouwsSint-Truiden and Tongeren (oldest city in Belgium and every Sunday the largest antique and brocante market in the Benelux).

Various bicycle, vespa and car routes have been developed for the region. Regional products can be found in the regional products shop in Borgloon.

In Helshoven (nearby, on foot via a walk that leaves from the church): cafes, regional products, and restaurants. In spring and summer very nice blossoms and summer bars in the middle of nature.
